Television shows where houses get decorated and interior design plays a role have gained massive popularity so people want to change their homes around more regularly.More and more of us are visiting our local DIY stores and local linen shops to grab a bargain and materials to create our ideal rooms. Using brightly colored towels in the bathroom, using a new bold set of bed linen or hanging some new curtains can all give our rooms a new appearance without costing loads of money. Most houses contain a bedroom, bathroom, kitchen and living room, but we rarely change their appearance, often spending years looking at the same wallpaper or dreary curtains. Take some of the steps listed below for a new look to your home every season or whenever you feel like it.
Bedroom The easiest and least expensive way to change the theme or style of your bedroom is to buy some new bed linen. Choose a style that you like but that you would never normally have picked. Be it because it is a bolder pattern than you might have thought about before, or the color clashes with the furniture in your room. Satin sheets can be romantic, whereas flannelet sheets are very practical as they regulate your body temperature. An eye catching bed linen set can be a real talking point, and you can normally buy cushions and bed throws that match.
Bathroom The best tip I can give you for brightening up your bathroom is to invest in some brightly colored bath towels with corresponding bath mat and flannels. Bright colors in small quantities will focus the eye on these and regular guests will notice the difference and think you have had a redecoration.
Kitchen Utensils are probably the best way to make a statement change in your kitchen. Put utensils in key positions around your kitchen, choose accessories of a similar theme be it antique or ultra modern, you could even bring the outside in and get some flowers. Little changes make a big difference in the kitchen, as they focus attention on themselves and you can create either a really modern or rustic style kitchen with a few easy containers.
Living Room. Blinds, nets, shutters and Lined Curtains. By changing the way we keep light out of our windows, we can change the whole atmosphere of the living room. Lined curtains are a great investment purchase because they have so many useful and aesthetic benefits. Not only do they regulate the temperature of your room in winter and summer months, they come in so many different styles that it is easy to change the appearance of your room. Buying a lighter color will mean more light comes into your room, warm colors have warming visual effects and darker colors can create dramatic shades and shadows. They come in sizes to fit all windows and are easy to hang, so lined curtains are a quick and easy way to change your living room around. |
